It will also delete all your files on your phone, so it is recommended to have a backup of your important files on your computer. There are two ways on how to reset your Motorola Moto G.   • On your Home Lcd, touch Apps.
  • Go to Settings > Privacy.
  • Tap on Factory Data Reset.
  • Then tap Reset phone.
  • And Erase everything to confirm the reset.

Warning: All downloaded apps and user data on your phone will be deleted. Data on the cloud will not be deleted.
How to Hard Reset

These steps is also helpful when your Motorola Moto G is unresponsive or frozen and theres no way to access the settings. If it is frozen, remove the battery and reinsert it after a few minutes.
  • Power up the device pressing both Volume UP and Down keys at the same time. Use the Volume down key to highlight recovery mode and volume up to select it.
  • When in recovery mode, you will see an android with a red triangle. Press Volume up and Volume down at the same time. This will bring up a blue menu at the top of the Lcd.
  • Press Volume down to select "wipe data/factory reset" and press the Power key to select it.
  • Now press Volume down to highlight Yes and press power to select it.
  • Finally, when the device finishes it will have "reboot system now" selected. Just press power to select that option.


How to Save Battery Life

Your phone is like a small computer, giving you tons of information and apps, at lightning fast speed. Depending on what you use, that can take a lot of power.

To see what’s using up battery power, touch Apps Settings  Battery.

Note: Do not enable Battery Saver, as it can affect your service when not on Wi-Fi. To check that Battery Saver is off, touch Apps Settings Battery  Battery Saver.

To set automatic rules to save power, touch Apps Assist (see “Motorola Assist”).

Follow these suggestions to save your battery life:
  • Turn off your Bluetooth when dont need it: Touch Apps Settings, then touch the switch next to Bluetooth to turn it OFF.
  • Turn off GPS tracking: Touch Apps Settings  Location  Mode Battery saving to turn off GPS tracking.
  • Lessen your display brightness: Touch Apps Settings Display Brightness > (slide dimmer setting left).
  • Shorten display timeout delay: Touch Apps Settings Display Sleep > (shorter setting).
  • Reduced widgets that stream information to your home Lcd, like news or weather.
  • Removed unused online accounts that you registered: Touch Apps Settings. Go to the ACCOUNTS section, and touch the one you want to remove. Touch it again, then touch Menu Remove account.
  • Minimize recording or watching videos, listening to music, or taking pictures.


How to Customize HomeLcd

For quick access to your favorite things, customize your home Lcd the way you want.• Change wallpaper:  Touch and hold an empty spot on your home Lcd to choose your wallpaper.

• Create shortcut groups: You can group app shortcuts together on your home Lcd to organize them.
To create a shortcut group on your home Lcd, drag one shortcut onto another. Add more shortcuts by dragging them onto the first shortcut. To name the group, touch it and enter a name below the apps.

• Add shortcuts & widgets:  Touch Apps, touch and hold the app or widget, then drag it to one of your home Lcd pages. To see all your apps and widgets, touch Apps and swipe the menu Lcd to the left, or touch APPS or WIDGETS at the top.

Tip: Some apps include widgets. To download apps, touch Apps > Play Store.

• Resize widgets:  You can resize some widgets—touch and hold a widget until you feel a vibration, then release. Drag the white circles at the edges to resize.

• Move or delete widgets & shortcuts: Touch and hold a widget or shortcut until you feel a vibration, then drag it to another spot, another page, or Remove at the top of the Lcd.

How to Download Apps, Movies, Music, Books and Games Using Google Play

Find it: Apps >Play Store.

• Find: To search, touch in the top right.

• Download: To download an app you found, touch it to open details and then touch Install, or the price.• Share: To share an app you found, touch it to open details and then touch Menu Share.• Reinstall: To show or reinstall apps you downloaded from Play Store, touch Menu > My Apps.

• Use a computer: To find and manage apps from any computer, go to http://play.google.com using your
Google account and password.

There, you can browse apps on the big Lcd, manage your apps across multiple devices (like a phone and tablet), and even set new apps to download to your devices.

• Get help: To get help and more, touch Menu in the top right.
How to Uninstall and Reinstall AppsFrom your home Lcd touch Apps , then swipe left to scroll through apps. To close the apps Lcd, touch Home or Back.• Uninstall apps: Touch Apps Settings Apps. Swipe left to ALL, touch an app, then touch Disable or Uninstall in the top right (if available).

Disable removes the app from your menu—to Enable it, reopen this window and touch Enable (disabled apps are at the bottom of the list).

If an app locks up your phone as soon as you turn it on, restart in Safe Mode: Turn off your phone, then turn it back on—when you see the “Motorola” logo during power-up, press and hold both volume keys until you see the home Lcd, with Safe Mode in the lower left. Then, try removing the app.

• Reinstall apps: To reinstall apps from Google Play Store, touch Apps Play Store Menu > My apps. The apps you downloaded are listed and available for download.

• Share, show, or clear app details: Touch Apps Settings Apps. A bar at the bottom tells you how much app storage space you have left. Swipe left or right to see the list of DOWNLOADEDRUNNING, or ALL apps, then touch an app in the list to show its details and storage usage. You can touch Clear dataClear cache, or other options.

Tip: To quickly show these app details from your app Lcd: Touch and hold an app, then drag it to App info.

• Show app data usage:  To show which apps are using the most data, touch Apps Settings Data usage. For more, see “Data use”.
How to Activate Voice Command

Tell your phone what you want to do.Tip: Speak naturally but clearly, like using a speakerphone.

• Dialing and commands: Touch Voice icon. To dial, say “Call” and then a contact name or phone number. Or, say a command like “Send text,” “Go to” an app, or “Help” for voice command help.Tip: If a contact has more than one number, you can say which number to call. For example, “Call Joe Black Mobile” or “Call Suzi Smith Work.”

To choose the confirmations and prompts you want to hear, touch Voice icon Menu Settings > Voice.

• Search: Touch in the home Lcd to search by voice.

To change your voice search and text-to-speech settings, touch Apps Settings > Language & input.

• Text entry: On a touchLcd keyboard, touch , then speak your message or search text. You can also speak punctuation.Tip: To make your phone read out loud, see “TalkBack”.
How to Get Help With Moto CareIf you just got your Motorola Moto G, the you really need some help. Go to Apps > Moto Care, then you will find lots of help like tutorials and tips about your Moto G. By tapping the Question Mark icon you can check the tutorials and guides. You can also view suggested changes at the top right. Aside from that, Motorola also offers a live help from an actual person. Just tap the Chat or Call options at the bottom of Moto Care and you can have an instant messaging chat or phone conversation with customer support.

How to Edit, Share, or Delete Photos & Videos

Find it: Apps > Gallery

• Play, share, or delete: Touch a thumbnail to open it, then choose to share, to delete, or Menu for more.

Tip: To select multiple files, open a folder, touch and hold a photo, then touch others.

• Zoom: Open a photo in your gallery, then drag two fingers apart or together on the Lcd.

Tip: Turn your phone sideways for a wideLcd view.

• Wallpaper or contact photo: Open a picture, then touch Menu > Set picture as.

• Edit: Open a picture, then touch Menu > Edit.

• Slideshow: Open a folder, then touch Menu > Slideshow. To stop the slideshow, touch the Lcd.

Share a Lcd capture of your favorite playlist, your new high score, or a friend’s contact information. If you can show it on your phone, you can share it with your friends.

To capture your phone’s Lcd, press and hold both the Power and the Volume Down keys at the same time.

To see the Lcd capture, touch Apps > Gallery > Screenshots.


How to Get More Storage

Moto G has an internal storage capacity of 8GB or 16GB, and MicroSD card slot is not available on this device. But you do get 15GB of free storage on Google Drive and in some regions theres also an extra 50GB which is free for two years. You can redeem it within 30 days of activating your Moto G. How to Automatically Backup Photos and VideosMake sure that your photos and videos are automatically backed up and stored. If you are using Google+ then you will find an option Auto-Backup in the app under Settings. Tap on that option for the full list of configuration options. Remember you have 15GB available on Google Drive.

You can back up contacts and other basic data via Settings > Accounts and tap Google then choose what you would like to sync.
